Aroma Kenya Peaberry
Our Kenyan Peaberry is a highly prized coffee and with some justification. Sometimes one of the beans fails to develop in the cherry, leaving just one bean. Usually with two beans in the cherry both beans will grow into a boat like shape with the flat deck side nestled up against one another. When one fails to form the bean develops into a round shape as the flat side is not restricted, thereby forming a 'pea' shaped bean, hence 'peaberry'. As there is only one bean it grows large and absorbs all the flavour and goodness from the bush that was meant for two beans. Differing types of these beans can develop all around the world, but we select the Kenyan version of peaberry due to it's consistent level of quality. In the case of the Kenyan beans it goes beyond the acidity of the Kenya AA and becomes a sweet flavour.
