Nepali tea is grown in the foothills of the Himalayas close to Darjeeling. Not as popularised as Darjeeling, but just as exclusive and fresh. The altitude, soil, rainfall and temperature help create the flavour of this delicate tea. It is well balanced and mildly spicy with a fresh overtone. The leaf size of this tea is large so needs longer to infuse and is light in colour when brewed.

Situated between China and India, Nepalese teas are grown at altitudes of between 2,000 and 3,000 metres. Due to the small growing area any teas from Nepal are relatively rare. Due to Nepal avoiding colonisation from the British Empire, it didn’t get the same industrialisation of production, like India. 

The letters that form the grade of this tea, Second Flush Tippy Golden Flowery Oange Pekoe refer to the second picking of the season and to the quality whole leaf tea made from the first two leaves and bud of the shoot. With larger amounts of tips.
